1/21/2024 0 Comments My little blacksmith shop play![]() ![]() As for the "you are running too many things on your pc" this is a typical response, 2 tabs in a web browser with discord and the game running is not enough to justify the game climbing in ram usage as you play to the point of the game crashing. Just go get Fantasy Blacksmith.ฤก00% understand what the dev has posted here, unfortunately the only part that is correct is about the Vr except the game still handles like a Vr game. TLDR: Dev cant decide if they want a Vr game, or a regular game and has implimented the whole thing poorly. the tutorial is useless and should be removed. bug reporting that has negitive feedback just crashes, the "Quests" or jobs they give you have 0 information and will waste your time. save every 3 minutes because it will crash from memory leaks (i run 32gb and crash). I like how this has the mechanics i want. If you're willing to put up with the bugs, the game can be fun, really fun, but if you don't like the idea of losing 1+ hour of your progress because the ingots keep disappearing, then steer clear until some ACTUAL fixes are out. Yes, the game is still very early access, however, the sheer number of bugs present in both major builds just make things extremely difficult to enjoy. It took me 6 tries before the advanced smelter finally spawned in a way that I could move it to a proper location. ![]() Even better, if you want to buy certain stations, like the advanced smelter or armour stand, good luck getting it to spawn at 0,0 without it being under the map, or just completely disappearing. Some things are also EXTREMELY tedious without crazy gear or stats, like doing ANY amount of digging. In the base game build, there are even some mechanics that would normally function fine but don't in certain circumstances because of the map/game design (When doing a delivery to the barracks tower, you sometimes CAN'T, because the box is too big to fit through the door, which was fixed in the alphatest build, but is still absurd). the game considers all E inputs to be 'hold' rather than 'tap'). On top of this, in some builds, certain mechanics just fail to function outright, like planting seeds in the base game build (From what I can tell. Ingots fusing inside of other ingots), falling through the map, janky crates that fuse into the floor for no reason, and almost ALL of my ingots despawning upon saving/reloading (Reloading an earlier save doesn't fix it either!), just to name a few of the issues. Throughout my 34 hours of gameplay, I've encountered consistent crashing (to the point that I have had to save my game over 56 times to make sure I don't lose progress from a crash), major frame drops (Ryzen 9 3900X, 2070 Super, 32GB Ram), items merging into a single item (i.e. The game is insanely buggy, regardless of the build you play on. Travel isn't particularly tedious either, as you can opt to travel on foot, using your carriage (which seems slightly faster), or teleportation pads that you can unlock yourself. It ensures that you actually have a reason to continue working, crafting and building, because you know you'll unlock something new. The levelling system is also a fairly good addition. The world itself is also a pretty decent size for a game of this volume, with different things hidden both in plain sight, and in more secretive locations, with some secrets opening new mechanics. The game world also looks surprisingly decent despite the simplistic graphics, mostly due to the fact that the game is very stylised. ![]() The game has a vast array of systems, such as item quality, smithing, smelting, tool/weapon crafting, building, etc, which all add up to provide the player with a full experience and allows freedom of choice. The number of different systems in the game provides a very unique experience that generally proves to be quite engaging and entertaining, however, I cannot recommend it in its current state. My Little Blacksmith Shop isn't a bad game at its core. ![]()
